After graduating from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2001, she began her career helping Georgia’s prison wardens properly discipline prison guards and keeping them fired if they appealed to the State Personnel Board.

For the Georgia Bulldog fans out there, Melissa is truly an Auburn Tiger at heart. She graduated summa cum laude from Auburn University with a Journalism degree in 1998.

Melissa left the Georgia Department of Corrections to enter private practice in 2002, and gained valuable experience defending employers of all sizes. She has spent countless hours advising the healthcare, transportation and manufacturing industries (among others). In 2010, she became an entrepreneur and started her own law firm.

Named a Top Attorney in 2014 by Southern Journal Magazine, Melissa enjoys her personal time as well. She follows her 11-year-old son’s baseball career and hopes to recover from a broken foot to run a 5K again.
